EMPOWERING YOUNG WOMEN & HELPING COMMUNITIES

Miss Ballito is a Rotary Zimbali Fund raising initiative to empower young woman, raise funds for Charity and to uplift the less fortunate in our community.

We seek out young ladies with a heart for the community and a driving desire to help others and make a difference. This pageant is very much about inner beauty and empowering our youth.

Finalists have the opportunity of participating in a mentorship programme where workshops and community days are organised. Topics include finance management, life coaching, social media etiquette, nutrition and health, self-defence and self-love. They get involved in charitable projects and learn about our community and where they can be of benefit. They take part in Photo shoots, community events and seek out sponsors to contribute to various charities. It is an amazing journey of new friendships, fun activities, growth and learning but most importantly to make a difference and pay it forward.

Funds raised go to Rotary approved charities and The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, and from its inception in 2011, just over R1 000 000 has been allocated to various charities.

BRITE EYES

BriteEyes which is a Cataract Surgery Camp held in Stanger and Maphumulo in partnership with iLembe Health Department. So far, a total of 1004 Cataract surgeries have been performed.

BURSARY FUND

A School education Bursary Fund has been established in partnership with some German donors that provides bursaries to disadvantaged learners who excel academically. Currently there are 30 Grade 12 students from Nkosibomvu on a bursary and to date 440 students have benefited from this program.

NORTH COAST COURIER ORPHAN FUND

SCHOOL LIBRARIES

School libraries have been established at 4 different schools

Summerhill house a NPO in Etete has benefited by having their infrastructure upgraded and receives assistance with their feeding scheme.

REX THE RHINO

Rex the Rhino Conservation Fund receives funding to provide their rangers with uniforms and foot collars to track orphaned Rhino at Umfolozi
